We practice the traditional Japanese rope arts, also known as Shibari and Kinbaku with historic roots going back to the martial arts of the ancient feudal Japan.

The Dojo
Our dojo was founded by a group (Shihankai) of some with more than 16 years experience as rope instructors, and from studying various Japanese martial arts. We belive the traditional dojo environment adds a unique spiritual atmosphere to the practice of Japanese rope arts, as we try to develop our skills by offering mutual helpfulness, personal challenges, and mindful evaluation to the learning process.

Tradition and Evolution
Over time we have learned from various rope artists, including Drachenmann, Bob & Chantal, Arisue Go and Osada Steve, and we have been inspired by so many others. We have chosen to follow a schooling system (ryu) developed by Osada Steve Sensei.

Osada Ryu - focusing on the path, more than the goal itself
Through well structured training, we have found the Osada Ryu to offer an unmatched comprehensive curriculum in both safety, techniques, and progression to help us reaching a deeper understanding of the evolving concepts of Shibari and Kinbaku. We enjoy Osada Ryu because it is has proved to be entertaining, enlightening, spiritually challenging, and educational at the same time.

Personal and Technical Progress
While sharing the fun by practicing together at the dojo, we develop a strong basis for developing our creativity and challenging our personal characteristics in a friendly and respectful atmosphere. Through structured training, we each find our own path and progress as individuals without having to worry about safety because we always have it with us.

Sharing the Knowledge
As we enjoy sharing the dojo's accumulated knowledge with others, we often arrange seminars and workshops at various levels, and we feel honored to have skilled instructors visit us, from both Japan and the West, teaching at the dojo.

Sharing the Fun
