design for the book now done - it’s simple and in keeping with previous trevor brown books - i went to the publisher’s offices earlier this week to scrawl lines thru anything i really didn’t like but mostly being agreeable to keep things rolling - they’re still dead set about using the clip-art “victorian” frames and ornamental letters everywhere …i guess i can deal with it - it should be going for a first proof printing next week

regular edition is a hardback with dust-wrapper cover (as above) - the obligatory limited edition will be more like the “director’s cut” tb desired version in pink (as opposed to blue) and a dust-wrapper-less printed hardback - a 3d pop-up also envisaged as a bonus gift - unsure how well that will work out (i’m not designing it myself) - also it’ll be a do-it-yourself thing with a sheet of instructions (”cut round dotted line, insert tab b into slot c… etc”) - meaning no one’s gonna construct it anyway?, preferring to keep the card intact (like my old sticky kiss paper doll print)

after the fatty manson rejection, i got long gone john to write the “intro” - he was always the best choice anyway and he’s written a very glowing piece - much too flattering but that’s fine with me : )
