the latest maruo - his art becoming increasingly detailed and stunning - story based on edogawa rampo’s “the caterpillar” - as i have way too many books already, i wasn’t going to buy this and instead patiently wait for the inevitable english version - but just saw it today and noticed it is a nice hardback and relatively inexpensive, so i couldn’t resist - also i suspect the english version is perhaps not quite so “inevitable” - last gasp will be publishing maruo’s previous manga “the strange tale of panorama island” , hopefully next spring (2010) - that manga was also based on a rampo story but significantly less grotesque and perverse than “imo-mushi” - and knowing what scaredy-wimps last gasp are, they might baulk at publishing “imo-mushi” next? - of course i’m just saying this to taunt them into doing it! (hi colin!) - translator ryan has many more imo-mushi peaks on his umezu obsessed blog same hat!
